Flower essences to soothe and calm anxious minds


Having an anxious mind can make you feel overwhelmed, making it hard to function properly. The Bach Flower Essences aim to ease emotional states. They work deeply and gently bringing positive and effective change to our lives. I have been using Bach Flower Essences to help with my PMDD and feelings of despair for years. Although, these flower essences can be helpful for anxiety symptoms, remember that they are not a cure for anxiety. Personally, I believe that they can help you to stop fighting your symptoms, and this is one of the most important first steps to feeling and getting better.

I have recommended and prescribed these essences to my clients over the years with excellent results. So, in this post, I have compiled 5 Bach Flower Essences targeting specific anxious thoughts.

Cherry Plum

Fear of losing control

Cherry Plum is the remedy to take when you no longer feel in control and are clinging onto your sanity. It aids in stabilising an over-anxious mind, filled with turmoil and worries experienced during a crisis. Taking this remedy will soothe your troubled mind while restoring inner-calm.

Mimulus

Frightened of something you can name

Mimulus is the remedy to take any time for “normal everyday" fears and anxiety caused by known things such as spiders, public speaking, the dark... This remedy provides courage and confidence when facing everyday problems in life without being deflected by anxiety.

Aspen

Feeling apprehensive

Aspen is the remedy to take when you experience apprehension, anxious anticipation, or dread for no apparent reason. This remedy helps to restore courage and security, with a fearless inner peace.

Agrimony

Mental torture behind a "brave face"

Agrimony is the remedy for those who mask their mental torture with a brave face. Those people tend to resort to distractions like alcohol and drugs to dull their emotional turmoils. This remedy helps them to come to terms with the darker side of their lives and personalities.

Rock Rose

Extreme terror and panic attacks

Rock Rose is the remedy for extreme fear and sheer terror. This remedy helps to combat panic attacks, fright and nervousness. It restores calm, courage and rational thinking.

Anyone can use the Bach Flower Essences, including children, babies and even animals – safely and without the worry of side effects, overdosing or addiction*.



HOW TO TAKE THE ESSENCE:

Put 2 drops of your chosen Flower Essence in a large glass of water (4 times a day).

You can also add 8-12 drops in a bottle of water and sip all day.

In times of extreme stress, you can put 4 drops neat straight onto your tongue as often as needed.


*Bach Flower Essences are preserved in brandy, so be mindful if you have issues with the use of brandy or alcohol.

Please note that these Flower Essences can be helpful for anxiety symptoms, but they are certainly not a cure for anxiety. Please speak to your GP about how you are feeling and for treatments available for anxiety.
